Here is a summary of the events. Things may change between now and Feb, as always I appreciate any feedback!

(Warhordes/Warmahordes or Warmachine & Hordes all mean the same thing.)

  • WDW will give a further 5% rebate on all rulebooks and starter sets purchased for the battle challenge
  • Players will have from till Feb 2011 to get a 15pt force sorted - though anyone can join in at any time
  • Players may join in at any time, but may miss out on prizes and points
  • Everyone should have their own copy of the rules. [/i]

do you still plan on giving out those starters?
I'm sorry.
It doesn't matter how many or how good you are.

Yup.
I was about to do another post for that.

We have two starters for anyone interested in playing, but doesn't have the miniatures to start. We'll raffle them off if enough people want to try to get one.

They are Magnus the Traitor Battlegroup and Gorten Grundback Battlegroup.

Bare in mind they are starters from MK1 (1st edition) but they will have cards for MK2 (read: second edition) and will be perfectly legal, they both fall just shy of 15pt force.

I'll be getting names down for people interested in getting the starters at the October (and possibly November) meet.

yeah, i really want the one with magnus in it, so put me down for that. i don't think i'm allowed to spend a great deal on wargames for a while, and i also owe a bit of money to a friend, so this might be the only way for me to get into warmachine sadly.
I'm sorry.

Gaming Points
  • You will receive 1pt for every game you play at the club against someone different. (Max 3pts per meet) eg. Playing 3 different people will give you 3pts, 2games against one person will give you 1pt.
  • To recieve these points you must not have played your opponent at that meet
I'm confused. How do you get points if your not allowed to 'have played your opponent at that meet'?

You can only get points per meet for playing against the same person once.

So if we played against each other twice, we wouldn't get the points for the second time. So the idea is to get ppl playing against 3 different people each meet.

Though I am thinking of knocking it down to 2 different people per meet, depending on what the consensus is. Just so people have a chance of playing other games at a meet!1

are we allowed to have more than one warcaster in any of the games?

You can do whatever you like if your opponent agrees.

The minimum point size is just the minimum playable points you need for each round. Other than that, go nuts.

I need to update the dates and scores for the extra meets we'll be having this year. Will also post a report form later today for everyone to use.

The battle challenge will officially kick off on the 19th of Feb!

Don't forget that games for the league count as of last saturday! I've already got 4 games under my belt. Just let me know who you played, point size and the winner so I can report and keep track. :D

You can't have the spare starter if you already got a force.
