New GW Releases
« on: February 12, 2011, 01:30:23 PM »
I'd like to kick off this thread with some shiny new incoming orcs and goblins for fantasy!
(I'm very excited about the characters, they are so flavoursome!)

GREY KNIGHTS INCOMING!
« Reply #2 on: March 09, 2011, 09:57:46 PM »
In the grim future of stressfully deciding which army to collect, the choice has never been easier!
Sourced from the GW website:

The new codex features multiple varieties of troop choices, allowing for a diverse range of minis, tactics and methods of kicking xenos behind, in style!

Grey Knight Terminators
(for the record, the new plastic kit boasts 153 components, allowing you to make any of the following squads!)

Lord Kaldor Draigo (with helmet)

Nemesis Dreadnight (Oooyeah!)

I'd just like to say, at the cost of double-posting, that I am getting very tempted to start collecting some fantastical greenskins, and to order at least one of each of the new grey knights kits! Let it never be said Games Workshop are dropping the ball or becoming dull and derogative. I am impressed and awed with every new release (I'm still not entirely over some of those dark eldar!)

It doesn't matter how many or how good you are.

Priorities!
You already have one fantasy army that needs painting!

Sell one to fund another?

The giant spider is the only thing from the goblins that I like. The savage orcs have box muscles, kinda wierds me out.

The grey knights aren't sisters of battle, so I don't love them.

Hmm, how I'd love to see the good old Adepta Sororitas get an updated codex, probably make me bring out my old sisters in a flash.

I've already sold some stuff and got some grey knights on the way rofl. I'm a bad person.
On an aside, I've picked one army for each system I play and I am not playing or doing anything with it until its painted.

Warmachine/hordes does keep trying to tempt me in though because the models are awesome.

hahaha yeah... and a 40k one... and a warmachine one... and some lord of the rings :)

lol it's GW's method of painting its models. Technically its called a non-zenithal painting technique (basically they're just painted to best show the model's lines and shapes, rather than give realistic lighting). It does look pretty weird on skin though! :P

I know you guys think I just hate GW stuff, but I'm finding all their new stuff so repetative. Maybe I'm got the GW fatigue, but with the expection of the big spider, I'm not really inspired by any of the stuff.

yeah? that's a shame, but everyone has to have their own opinion. Personally I find GW minis to be rife with character and eccentricities that other companies just can't communicate through their sculpts. Everyone has their own take on it.
The giant spider IS magnificent though! :D

Tombkings are expensive. $70 for 10 guard? No thanks.

In related news, GW is dumping metals all together and going to convert everything to plastics. Wonder if this will see prices come down as they have said for the last few years prices have been going up due to metal prices.
