Dual weapon confusion
« on: May 27, 2011, 09:10:42 AM »
i was taking a squiz through the grey knights codex recently, alongside the mini rulebook for clarification purposes. at that point i realised that a pair of nemesis falchions seemed somewhat overcosted compared to the other nemesis upgrades, i thought that was odd because their special rule just states they give +1 attack, which doesnt seem much more fancy than +2 initiative(halberds), but they cost double the points.

I then realised that it was a PAIR of weapons and thought maybe they also gain the bonus attack stated in the special rules as well as the attack given specifically from their ability, which makes upping the cost of a basic grey knight by %50 to 30 points seem a bit more reasonable.

So anyway, what do you guys think? Yay? Nay? Undecided? some feedback would be appreciated.
I'm sorry.

Yes falchions overall give +2 attacks, one for being a paired weapon, the other for their special rule.

that is absolutely awesome. makes them much more worth the extra points then because they actually have a decent purpose rather than being cool looking and kind of sucky for points.

Interceptors with falchions (and the crucial Master Crafted daemon hammer justicar) would be interesting, although interceptors are awesome full stop. Add psycannons/psybolt ammo to taste.

too bad i already built some more normal guys/purifiers. i'll see whether the grey knight battleforce turns out any good when they release one, then i MAY buy one with leftover moneys and make some interceptors/other stuff.

Well they are great on anyone, I was just thinking that the swords are more offense based, while the halberds are defensive/advantage stripping.

well they seem good to make up for the power/force weapon attacks i miss out on by giving psycannons or incinerators to my purifiers, which is what i'm using them for at the moment. i do want to fiddle with interceptors at some point though, no doubt about that. need something to close in fast to help distract from all the slower footsloggers.
