ARC 2012
« on: October 20, 2011, 12:56:18 PM »
Are we going to do anything about ARC as a club again this year? If so then its is time to start  the ball rolling again because the registration times have come up faster than i thought.

So if the club is entering as a single entity who's interested, we have 2 weeks to get this organised?

I actually wouldn't mind playing this year (maybe this time I'll get to keep the fez!)

Youngy and Cypher should therefore also do it! :)

I could be interested, provided it doesnt interfere with any fantasy tournaments.

I'm tempted, I had a look at the website after reading the initial post and was particularly interested in winning the wooden spoon - the only real award I'd be in the running for with my Tau.

The thing that's holding me back from committing is that only two-three hours are allotted for games.  I'm nowhere near good enough with the rules and dont get enough opportunity to play regularly to get my game times down...and I'd hate for any opponent to be too pissed at me for not getting through any game completely.

Do we know when rego must be completed?  I'll put some more thought in.  For the moment though, I'll add my vague sentiments to everyone else's :)

don't worry mate, plenty of time to get some practise in before then! ;)

Went through my stuff and realised that I bought nearly half an ork army at the start of this year (namely AT the last arcanacon event!) for this exact purpose. I'm in if we can get a team together! Otherwise I don't really fancy going if it's just gonna be me (which I doubt, but there you go)

well i will be there, with or without you lot so know that at least one other person you know is going.
Try and get on to Cypher and Youngy if you can and tell them to look at this thread, likewise ill pester Aries, Machen and Skeletal Fist.

I will be fronting my arclist at the next meet trying to get as many games in as possible if anyone is interested in practicing.

When I looked at the site, there was no player's pack as yet.

What are the restrictions on army selection?  Points value, any weird selection rules?  I'll be aiming for the fluff award and the wooden spoon, but still need that legal list.

Would love to practice...a lot. :)

The army requirement is 1200 pts standard army as per your latest codex, no allies and special stuff.
They usually require some other thing (running men one year and small blast marker sized portals last year) for mission specific rules.
from what i remember fluff is optional but there are new organisers this year, best to just trawl the official website for instructions, was very helpfull for me.

Had to be a catch there - my favourite Commander is an XV84 Battlesuit (incorporates spine-mounted markerlight and target lock); but I'll have a legal 1200pt list at the meeting on November 5 (if I'm not working) and would be keen to have as many people as possible mop the floor with me! :)
