AE-Battle Challenge Information
« on: July 09, 2010, 09:20:27 PM »
Ok, here is the final information for the battle challenge. It'll be wrapping up in October. So here is the break down of it all. This information superseeds any previous information posted in any other threads.

Painting Points.
You will get points for having one of each of the following painted. They don't have to be super awesome jobs, just painted with at least 3 colours, and fully based. You just need to have one of each choice painted to get the full points (20pts) You'll need to show up to the August meet with the following completed to get the points.

Point Break Down
Elite - 5pts
Veteran - 5pts
Regular or Green - 5pts
Regular or Green - 5pts

So to get all 20points you will need to have a Elite, Veteran, 2 Regulars or 2 Greens or 1 Green, 1 Regular. Which can mean you may only need a minimum of 4 painted models.

Campaign Rounds.
There will be 3 rounds. They will be randomly determined before each round starts, AFTER everyone has made their detatchments. They'll go Axies vs Allies. If there are uneven numbers we will organise bys for that, a person sitting a by round will be awarded 4pts.

The rounds will be;
Round 1: Escalating Engagment
Round 2: Foraging
Round 3: Scattered
Round 4: Spirits Unleashed (From the Occult book)
Round 5: Welcome To Hell

Detachments
The only restriction we'll be placing on detachments is no veichles, only because after much discussion we've found the veichle rules to be rather unbalanced at the moment.

The campaign will be held on the September meet, following over to the October meet if need be.

You will get Victory points for achieving the following in each senario.
Primary Objective - 4pts
Secondary Objective - 2pts
Attrition - 2pts

We will be using a modified version of how the campaign rules work from in the rulebook. You will select a detachment which you must use throughout the campaign, but you are free to change that detachment however you like during it. E.g. You could take an Infantry Detachment, but must use it for the duration of the campaign with the freedom to change it however you like between rounds.

The all important prizes! There will only be prizes for 1st and 2nd as we didn't get many entries.
1st Place - This digital camera
2nd Place - A Battlefoam P.A.C.K Mini

Any questions are welcome.

So we are looking at this for the following months.

August Meet - Painting Points and Round Robbin (details in another thread)
September Meet - Start the campaign and finish it.

I can win. The prize was donated, like the display board.

If I enter two teams, and play myself, can I then win both prizes?  That way I could take photos of my mini's on the display board?  :P

Awesome prizes thank you WDW!!!

On a serious note, I definitely have no problems with Carson or anyone involved in the running of the club being eligible to win any prizes for anything we do.  Lol, there is no question of honesty or integrity so I find it hard to believe that simply doing all the hard work would disqualify them.

I updated some of the rules with stuff I forgot to add yesterday.

I'm still shocked not as many people are jumping aboard given the sweet loot!

I didn't think carson was going to cheat, if thats possible, I just thought that carson must have purchasized the prizes, and it would be a bit anti-climactic if he won, meaning he bought sweet prizes for himself.

No vehicles?  Dang!  I'd understand no tanks, but really, no vehicles?  What about no Scouts special order on doggies?  :'(
Thanks to denial, Carson's no longer immortal.

yup no vehicles. really they just dont fit, the game becomes unbalanced and no fun

scouting doggies are a pain and a autowin button used by newbs :p plus the watchdog special order hoses them and all hidden deployment, where as vehicles take all special orders and stuff you'd never play with to deal with

There shouldn't be a problem with Carson winning.

Its a checklist to get the points, not a ranking, so anyone could judge it.

Unless of course he announces that his guns have auto hit, auto kill and his guys have infinite armour.  :P
